For those who don’t know, Hogmanay is the Scots word for the last day of the year and is synonymous with the celebration of the New Year.
Raven and I went to Scotland with some friends, to attend our favourite NYE celebration in Edinburgh. It was our fourth time and I am sure we will return.
We have celebrated the arrival of the New Year in different cities and even countries, still, nothing compares.
Edinburgh’s Hogmanay is a very organised event, with tickets sold to many parties with slightly different entertainment. We like the Ceilidh, where bands play folk music and teach the crowd steps to traditional dances. It’s a fun filled night, culminating with a wonderful fireworks display watched by the foot of Edinburgh castle.
After being apart last year, we wanted to start 2019 the best possible way and if last night is a sign of good things to come, this year will be pretty special indeed.
Happy 2019!!!
