Friends with Benefits – Reversed

on

In the middle of our marriage crisis, I wrote here how Barely Husband accused me of treating him like a friend with benefits. I couldn’t deny it. A girl has needs too, you know…

It may not have been the wisest on my part and as we drifted more and more, I still wanted sex, but it became clear it wasn’t with him. Or any living being for that matter (at that point in time). There was never anyone else involved in our break-up and I still haven’t been with anyone – it fucking sucks!

We have been friendly, getting on much better than when we were together, and he came out with this gem: he wanted us to ‘go out as friends’. Erm… I was shocked speechless as he talked about it.

In a way, it made sense: we have fun and we laugh a lot; we have been out for meals (with Raven) and it’s enjoyable; most of my friends don’t live close by and I have kind of been on party animal mode lately.

Still, there’s a line that shouldn’t be crossed. I still don’t want him. We already know it doesn’t work. However, he thought we could have a bit of ‘extra fun’ as the sex used to be good and we’re both single. Then he checked if I’m still single. Well, yes, but that’s not the point.

I skated around the subject and avoided being harshly straight because I don’t want to jeopardise the relationship we have been working on. That is, until I saw he wouldn’t take the hint.

He was a bit mardy for a few days but he seems to be back to normal. I’m not going back there. Ever. I know something better is ahead. Don’t look back!

  2. Dear Friend, this situation seems a bit puzzling. Attractions of the flesh that manifests itself in acts such as sex sometimes just stands to confuse a situation. I would suggest that you pray to God concerning what you are currently going through. Take your true feelings to the father. What are you really looking for? It is God who can provide you with true love. Pray to him, listen to his word, let him cleanse you from the inside out, and prepare you for a love that would not fail.

    Stay strong sister 🙂 ❤
