Week Off

Raven leaves tonight to France for a week. That’s part of her French Exchange program at school. She’s not looking forward to the 18 hour coach trip but she’s looking forward to good food, nice weather and a visit to the beach.

I’m not looking forward to being away from her but I’m looking forward to a few weekday evenings to myself.

Coffee with an old friend on Monday, belated birthday outing with my work team on Wednesday and hoping other days are filled too as time passes.

I need this. I need a life.

The downside is that Barely Husband is around. He has started his new job and he’s been staying with us while I wait to move into my new house and he gets his rent sorted (out of the old contract and into a new one already at the flat he wishes to buy) and he’s been calm and pleasant.

He sorts his own food, stays out of the way, chats here and there… He’s almost a tenant that asks for occasional help with his mortgage application. We’ve even been out for a drink once. Before you ask, it was just friendly with absolutely no romance whatsoever.

We are not getting back together. The million dollar question is: will he spy on me over this week off?

That must be nice for Raven, but I personally would find it So Hard!

She’s there and she’s happy now. It’s a very new experience for her as it’s her first week long school trip. To another country!
We text all the time and her Instagram and Snapchat are filled with lovely pics. šŸ˜Š
