I meant to post something completely different yesterday, but then I received a big shock: I was nominated for the The Blogger Recognition Award!!! My reaction was to stare at my nomination, looking just like Macauley Culkin in ‘Home Alone’.
My nomination came through my friend and ‘sister’ RhapsodyBohème and her beautiful blog rhapsodyboho.wordpress.com . She has been my support in this writing adventure, always with kind words, and 100% responsible for saving my book from anihilation. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! The funny thing is that she considers herself one of the ‘New Kids on the Blog’. What that hell is that going to make me? The New Toddler on the Blog? Probably!!! Haha!
- Write a post to show your award;
- Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog;
- Attach the award to the post;
- Give a brief story of how your blog got started;
- Give a piece of advice or two to new bloggers;
- Select 5 other blogs you want to give the award to.
The wonderful people who have been following my posts know that I decided to start my blog when things became really difficult in my marriage. I wanted to let steam out and hopefully connect with people going through similar issues, or at least good people with a love of writing and supporting each other. If I could touch a single person’s heart through my writing, I would consider my mission accomplished.
What I got back instead was so much more and I can’t stop singing praise to the WordPress community who embraced me with open arms. I made friends and right now I don’t know where I’d be without them.
As I take my blogging baby steps, the only advice I can give is always write from your heart. Whatever you want to write about, be true to yourself and your beliefs and people will respond to that.
I’m pretty sure some of these people may have been nominated before, but I don’t see anything in the rules against doing it again so… Finally my dear nominees are:
- Still Learning 2b – lessonsfromtheendofamarriage.com
My first follower and supporter. Recovering from something I may still well go through.
- BeautyBeyondBones – beautybeyondbones.com
We don’t always share the same views, but there’s no denying you write from your heart. The way you now proudly show the world who you are is beautiful.
- Georgia’s Favourite Things – georgiasfavouritethings.wordpress.com
Your blog brings fun and joy. A light-heartedness that I so desperately need. Now that you are opening up yourself I love you even more!
- Frank Solanki – franksolanki.wordpress.com
Your poems make me smile; sometimes they make me cry; they speak to me.
- Tarnished Soul – tarnishedsoul.wordpress.com
No one else exposes their heart and soul like you do. If you’re in pain, we are in pain; If you’re happy, we are happy; I proudly call you my friend.
